MILNE AND MUTT DOG TRAINING
Terms and Conditions
Milne and Mutt training is based on the kindest, most effective, non- punitive methods. We carefully design and structure our training programs to the best they can be for dog and owner.
These policies are written in the interest of safety, responsibility and care of owners and dogs.

-
Harsh handling is not permitted. We have a complete ban on choke chains and other coercive or punitive techniques, in accordance with the APDT Code of Practice.
-
Owners are expected to clean up after their dogs in public places. All dogs must be kept under control and on leash in public areas (off leash only when instructed by your instructor). We are there to help but you are responsible for the conduct of your dog at all times.
-
Refunds cannot be given after your programme has started, except in exceptional circumstances – as decided by your instructor. Milne and Mutt Dog Training cannot accept responsibility for loss, injury or damage to person or property.
-
Children are very welcome to attend training sessions – indeed they are often the best handlers. However, for the sake of safety and consistency in training, young people under the age of 16 MUST be with an adult at all times. Children who make a lot of noise or dash about can teach dogs to chase children. Parents might wish to sit down with their children before their training session to explain how important it is for them to listen and be involved.
-
Please let us know if your dog is not in a fit state to train due to illness, disease, injury or any other reason. All dogs should be wormed and fully protected by vaccination as advised by their vet.
Training Sessions and Fees
Please note, all sessions with Milne and Mutt will last one hour.
All fees for sessions need to be paid in advance or on the morning of our first session.
Please note if you are unable to keep the appointment schedules 48 hours notice must be given. Full cost will be charged for non-appearance or cancellation if less than 48 hours notice is given.
Whilst your trainer strives to avoid changes and/or cancellations, Milne and Mutt Dog Training reserves the right to cancel or change an appointment at any time by notice with immediate effect, without cause. Your booked sessions will be rescheduled at the next available opportunity or a refund issued for any sessions missed if this is not possible.
Once a training pack has started it must be completed within 6 months, it will up to the discretion of Milne and Mutt Dog Training if further sessions can take place after the 6 month period. No refunds will be given.
Group Classes
In the event of cancelling your place on one of our classes we require at least 21 days’ notice before the start date of your course. If a cancellation is received after this notice period, full payment is still required. If the notice is less than 21 days notice, and the place can be filled by another participant, we will refund your place though an administration fee may be charged. If the spot cannot be filled, we will not offer a refund.
In the unlikely event that Milne and Mutt Dog Training is unable to run the course on the date specified another date will be offered to you. Should the date be unsuitable for you, you will receive a full refund.
Payments for classes are non transferable.
Please note that if you book a place on a 5 week class, and you are unable to attend any of the sessions, we will not refund you for those sessions.
Weather
We work in all weathers, the only time we will postpone classes is when it is unsafe to train, for example thunder and lightning, snow or extreme heat.
Please make sure that you wear suitable clothing and footwear and that your dog has everything they need to be comfortable i.e. dog coat, umbrella etc
We will not be able to refund you if you choose not to attend when the class is going ahead. Should you have any doubt as to whether a class may be cancelled, please check your emails.
