I left a career in West End stage management to do something I'm truly passionate about. Since founding Milne and Mutt in 2017, I've helped hundreds of dogs and their owners build relationships based on trust, kindness, and clear communication.

ABOUT ME

My story

For over a decade, I worked in stage management in the West End. I was lucky to work on some amazing productions over my years in the business, from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lion King to Monty Pyhton Live at the O2 arena. I'd always had a deep connection with dogs, and the more time I spent around dogs — training them, learning about them, watching the relationship between a dog and an owner transform with the right guidance — the more I knew this was where I was meant to be. Leaving the West End wasn't an easy decision. It was a career I'd worked hard to build.

The person who gave me the final push to change careers was my friend, Oli Juste. Oli was already an established dog trainer, and watching him work—the way he connected with both dogs and their owners—was truly inspiring. He had a passion for dogs and training that was completely infectious, and he believed in me long before I fully believed in myself.

When I launched Milne & Mutt in September 2017, Oli was there supporting me every step of the way. Sadly, we lost him in 2022, but his influence is woven into the fabric of Milne & Mutt and continues to shape the way I work today. His encouragement, knowledge, and friendship played a huge part in this journey, and his legacy will always remain a part of what I do.

At home, I have two dogs of my own — Gladys, a three-year-old maltipoo, and Edith, a two-year-old cavapoochon. They are great dogs who love nothing more than stepping in front of the camera to help me film a training video.

My training approach is based on positive reinforcement, clear communication, and understanding each dog as an individual. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to training, which is why I work closely with owners to create practical solutions that fit their lifestyle and their dog's needs. Whether I'm helping a puppy get off to the best possible start, building reliable gundog skills, or supporting a dog through behavioural challenges, my goal is always the same: to help owners build a stronger, more rewarding relationship with their dog through kind, effective training.
