The perfect start to your puppy's training journey

Bringing a new puppy home is exciting — but it can feel overwhelming too, especially when it comes to socialisation and training. These classes are designed to take the pressure off, giving your puppy a calm, controlled space to learn and grow at their own pace.
​
Every puppy is different. Some bound in full of confidence, others need a little more time to feel comfortable. That's completely normal, and it's exactly why class sizes are kept small — so every puppy gets the individual attention they need, without anyone feeling lost or overwhelmed.
​
Through gentle, positive socialisation, your puppy will learn to feel at ease around other dogs and new people — building the kind of confidence that carries into everyday life. Alongside that, they'll pick up the essential skills that make life together genuinely easier: from walking nicely on the lead to coming back when called, settling calmly, and navigating the world without fear or frustration.

Everything taught in class is practical and real-world ready — because the goal isn't just a well-behaved puppy in a training hall, it's a happy, confident dog out in the real world.

Join me for a 90 minute workshop of life skills, fun tricks and games.
Whether you’re introducing new behaviours or building on skills you’ve already started teaching, the workshop offers a great opportunity to practise in a new environment, around distractions, and with support along the way. From recall and settle mat training to fun tricks and ways to navigate everyday distractions, you’ll pick up plenty of ideas to practise at home and help your puppy grow in confidence while learning skills for everyday life.

Puppy Workshop FAQs
Who is the workshop suitable for?
The workshop is suitable for puppies who are ready to learn new skills, as well as those who have already started their training. Whether you're introducing behaviours for the first time or looking to practise familiar skills around distractions, there will be plenty to get involved in.

Does my puppy need to know basic behaviours already?
Not at all! We'll explore a range of useful life skills, fun tricks and engaging training games. There will be opportunities to introduce new behaviours and build on skills your puppy may already know.
​
What training methods do you use?
All training is reward-based, using positive reinforcement to encourage behaviours we want to see more of. We'll use rewards such as food, toys and play to make learning enjoyable and help you build a positive relationship with your puppy.

How old does my puppy need to be?
Please get in touch before booking if you're unsure whether the workshop is suitable for your puppy's age and stage of development.

Does my puppy need to be vaccinated?
Yes. Puppies must be fully vaccinated in accordance with their vet's advice before attending.
​
What should I bring?
Bring plenty of small, tasty treats, your puppy's usual harness or collar, a lead and a favourite toy. Using rewards your puppy loves will help keep them engaged throughout the session.
Will my puppy get to interact with other puppies?
The focus is on training, learning and practising around distractions rather than free-for-all puppy play. We'll work to create a calm, supportive environment where puppies can learn without feeling overwhelmed.

What if my puppy gets distracted or struggles to concentrate?
That's completely normal! Puppies are still learning how to navigate the world around them. We'll help you work at your puppy's pace and show you ways to make training easier and more rewarding.

Can I attend if I've already been to puppy classes?
Absolutely! The workshop is a great opportunity to refresh existing skills, practise around distractions and try new games and behaviours. You don't need to be starting from scratch to benefit.
​
How long is the workshop?
The workshop lasts 90 minutes, with opportunities for breaks as needed.
​
How much does it cost?
The workshop costs £65 per puppy. Places are limited to keep the session manageable and allow everyone the opportunity to practise.

Can I bring someone else with me?

Gundog training is one of the most effective ways to fulfil a working dog mentally and physically, channelling those powerful instincts into something focused and rewarding — for them and for you.

And it's not just for dogs with a working background. The skills at the heart of this training — impulse control, focus, scent work, and responding calmly under distraction — are genuinely useful for every dog, regardless of breed or background. Scent workshop
Give your dog's nose a job to do!
Dogs experience the world through scent, it's their superpower. This fun, hands-on workshop taps into that natural instinct, teaching your dog to search for and find a hidden scent, then show you when they've found it.
No experience needed, and dogs of any age are welcome, whether you've got a bouncy puppy, a nervous rescue, or a senior dog who needs a gentler way to burn energy.
It's one of the best forms of mental enrichment you can offer your dog. In fact, 20 minutes of sniffing can be as tiring as an hour-long walk, so if you're after a calmer, happier dog at home, this is a great place to start.

How long is each class?
Each class lasts one hour.
Is there parking?
Yes — free street parking right by the school.

How many dogs per class?
Maximum 6 dogs per class — small by design, so everyone gets proper attention.

How do I pay?
I'll send an invoice once you book. Payment must be made to secure your place — use your dog's name and surname as a reference.
Can the whole family come?
Yes — everyone is welcome. Children must be supervised.

Is the venue accessible?
Yes, fully wheelchair accessible. Get in touch before booking if you have specific requirements.
Can my reactive dog join?
Please get in touch before booking if your dog is fearful, anxious, or reactive towards dogs or people.
What's the cancellation policy?
21 days' notice required. Late cancellations are non-refundable, though if your spot can be filled I'll do my best to offer a refund minus an admin fee.
