Frequently Asked Questions
When should I book a pre-puppy session?
You can book your session as soon as you know you're getting a puppy. Ideally, we'd have the session before your puppy comes home, giving you time to prepare your home and get everything ready.
If your puppy is already home, that's absolutely fine too — we can simply focus on what you need help with now.
Do I need to have chosen my puppy yet?
No! You don't need to have everything figured out before we work together.
Whether you're waiting for your puppy to be born, have already chosen your puppy or are still deciding what type of dog might suit your lifestyle, we can talk through your plans and help you prepare.
Do you offer the session online?
Yes. Pre-puppy training is available online via Google Meet, so you can join from anywhere in the UK.
Online sessions are particularly useful because we can talk through your actual home environment, routines and plans before your puppy arrives.
Can we have the session in person?
Yes. If you're based in South East London, I can also offer pre-puppy sessions in person.
What if I have lots of questions?
That's exactly what the session is for! Getting a puppy can feel like there is an endless list of things you should know. Bring your questions — big, small or completely random — and we'll work through them together.
What happens after my puppy arrives?
Once your puppy is home, you can continue with one-to-one puppy training, either online or in person. We can then work on the things you're actually experiencing day-to-day, from toilet training and puppy biting to settling, recall and loose-lead walking.
